My philosophy has been gathered from many successes and failures as a human, from what I have observed as a therapist, and from what I will learn from you.
Welcome — I’m Adam Howarth, LCSW
Before I was a therapist, I was a soldier, a first responder, a case manager, a stay-at-home parent, and an advocate. My path into therapy wasn’t linear—but it was always driven by a desire to help people feel more connected, seen, and supported through life’s hardest seasons.
Whether working with veterans navigating trauma and reintegration, individuals facing substance use and housing instability, overwhelmed parents at home with children, or communities affected by loss, I’ve witnessed how resilience often hides in plain sight. These experiences shaped the way I show up in the therapy room: grounded, compassionate, and deeply committed to creating a space where people feel safe enough to be honest, and supported enough to move forward.
Therapy isn’t about fixing you—it’s about walking alongside you as you uncover what healing means on your own terms.
My Approach to Therapy
I believe therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interrogation. My clients often come to me when they’re burned out, overwhelmed, or stuck in old patterns they’re ready to understand. Together, we’ll build a space grounded in safety, curiosity, and mutual respect—where your experiences are valid and your goals matter.
I draw from a range of evidence-based practices, including:
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) – Understanding and shifting patterns in thoughts and behaviors
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) – Building skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) – Learning to move forward in alignment with your values
Motivational Interviewing – Strengthening your own voice and readiness for change
Our work will always be adapted to your needs and paced in a way that feels right for you.
